The project that I chose for my artifact was Adopt an Element, which was to do research on one of the elements in the periodic table and do an advertisement on it. During this project I learned about the agricultural uses of my element, such as the growth rate of plants, and how the element is used to fertilize the plants.
The assignment was to pick an element, research it and do an advertisement on it that includes its agricultural uses, atomic number, and mass. The element I chose was zinc. I looked up its agricultural uses, such as if it was used as a fertilizer, how it was used as a fertilizer, and what exactly it does that helps the farming industry. Then I used the information I found for my advertisement. What I did to succeed was I asked for help from my classmates with the advertisement by looking at theirs for inspiration. During my research I found that zinc is one of the essential micronutrients needed in agriculture since it aids with the production of proteins, chlorophyll and enzymes needed for plants' metabolism.
