This class is English and I learn how to punctuate sentences correctly, spell, read books that address issues going on right now and answer questions about what I’ve read, and more about how to use technology to my advantage in writing assignments. The project that I did was a persuasive essay on immigration and how it affects the U.S.
As I mentioned earlier, I did a persuasive essay on immigration specifically sanctuary cities and whether or not they should stay based on the pros and cons. My assignment was to persuade people in favor of sanctuary cities staying, while introducing a counter-argument then essentially take it down. I researched on the topic of sanctuary cities, specifically pros and cons related to the subject, took notes, and wrote my essay. I learned that a sanctuary city can not only be a city but also a county or a state. I learned that based on statistics, immigrants are less likely to report a crime or voluntarily give information of a one to authorities because they’re afraid of getting deported. My work tells me that when I do an essay I like to research, take some notes, work on writing my essay, then repeating that process. This helps me retain the knowledge I just learned.
A SLO that I demonstrated was mastering skills that I’ll need in
